  • Mastering the almighty advertorial space ad February 7, 2012
There are basically two types of space advertising: promotional ads and advertorials. Each has its place in your marketing toolbox. However, while most copywriters and designers have at least a fair understanding of promotional ads, advertorials can pose a challenge. Every Door Direct Mail

A new service offered by the United States Postal Service promises to help small business improve response rates and lower mailing costs. Every Door Direct Mail is that service and was rolled out nationally earlier this year. With this service, small businesses now have the same opportunity that the larger, national corporations have long had when it comes to doing what the post office calls “saturation mailings”. The lowest possible per piece rates, no need for a mailing list, and no permit required (in most cases).

Retail businesses that rely heavily on local traffic such as insurance, grocery stores, movie theaters, and dozens of other industries can now completely saturate their local marketing areas without the need to purchase a mailing list. By itself that represents a .10-.25 per piece savings. Saturation mailing rates are in the .14-.15 per piece bracket which is the same price bracket Sears, Penney’s and other national mailers enjoy when doing saturation mailings.

A third way in which the customer can realize additional savings is in the area of mailing preparation services. Once your mailer is printed (no address imprinting saves money!) it remains only to be bound and delivered to the post office. All other mailing prep services are no longer needed which saves you more than enough money to celebrate! You may either pay your printing services provider to bundle and deliver the pieces or you, the customer, can do that and pocket the savings.

Saving money on list purchases, postage costs, and mailing services affords you enough room in your budget to increase the number of pieces mailed, achieving the saturation level.  More prospects see  your message and if your offer and message are good, you should receive more responses that you can turn into paying customers.

It’s called Every Door Direct Mail. It’s simple, easy, and affordable. One of our marketing consultants would be happy to sit down with you and work out the details of a mailing strategy to help grow your business.
